This year, the Council is reaching out to you, our community and beyond, to meet its vital needs. Summer camp is fast approaching and there are many families in Port Chester, Town of Rye and Rye Brook who cannot afford for their child to participate. Many of these children have extreme needs and would significantly benefit from the opportunity to attend camp. Without camp, these children are more likely to fall behind in school, lack social skills, and their physically and emotional health will suffer. For more than 20 years, the Council of Community Services has been helping children attend summer camp with your help.
OUR goal is to assist 25 children this summer, ages 4 – 14
We are turning to the generosity of our community to make a tax deductible donation towards sponsoring a child that would otherwise not be able to afford camp. Local children eligible for these camp scholarships will be identified by their teachers, guidance counselors and community service providers.
Perhaps you went to camp when you were young; remember the joy it brought into your life all year long. You can bring the same joy to somebody else. You can play a small part in the life of another and have a big impact.
Please consider any amount that would go directly to benefit an underprivileged child allowing him/her to attend a local camp.
