Annual Community Recognition & Fundraiser
Join the Council of Community Services on Wednesday, December 9, 2026, for our Annual Community Recognition & Fundraiser! This special evening will celebrate individuals and organizations making a meaningful difference in our community while raising funds to support local children and families.
This year, we are proud to recognize Nancy Pasquale of RyeACT and Lisa Dominici of the Rye Youth Council as our Extra Mile Award recipients for their work bringing mental health education and prevention programming to our communities. We will also present a Special Recognition Award to The Sharing Shelf, based in Port Chester, for its work addressing clothing insecurity and providing essential items to children and families in need.
Honoring Our Community Leaders
Extra Mile Award Recipients
Nancy Pasquale — RyeACT
As co-founder and Coalition Coordinator of RyeACT, Nancy Pasquale works to advance youth prevention and education. Through her work with RyeACT and countywide prevention initiatives, she has helped bring Youth Mental Health First Aid training to more than 125 youth-facing adults and parents throughout our communities. Her efforts also support youth-led prevention initiatives, community education, and leadership opportunities that promote youth mental health and substance use prevention.
Lisa Dominici — Rye Youth Council
Lisa Dominici has dedicated years to supporting youth and families throughout the Sound Shore community. During her tenure as Executive Director of the Rye Youth Council, she helped expand programs focused on youth development, prevention, and mental health, including low- to no-cost counseling services for children and young adults. Her work has helped strengthen the network of support available to young people and their families.
Special Recognition Award
The Sharing Shelf
Based in Port Chester, The Sharing Shelf addresses clothing insecurity by providing clothing, personal hygiene products, and school backpacks to children and families in need. Its work helps ensure that local children have access to essential items that support their comfort, confidence, and well-being.
Supporting Local Children Through Camperships
Proceeds from the Annual Community Recognition & Fundraiser directly support the Mary O’Connell Campership Fund.
For more than 30 years, the Council of Community Services has helped children from local families attend summer day camp through this fund. The program has provided more than 1,000 local children with opportunities to learn, play, and discover in a safe and nurturing environment.
In 2026, the Council awarded 43 children scholarships of $200 each to attend local day camps. These camperships are made possible through the generosity of our donors and supporters.
By attending our fundraiser, you help us continue this important work and give more local children the opportunity to experience the joy, learning, and friendships that summer camp provides.
